Bean Bag Posing

When it comes to the bean bag, there are a variety of different poses that I incorporate in my workflow for each newborn session, and it doesn’t have to be just newborn I have successful posed up to 3 months with some of these poses as well. Let me talk you though some of them...

Side Pose

This is ideal from newborns to babies that are a little older, it doesn’t need the flexibility that a newborn has for me to pose them. It is a pose that all babies are very comfortable in, it is a beautiful photograph with just the baby nude or I place them with a warp, clothes as well as headbands and hats.

Bum Up Pose

This is another one of my favourites and is a gorgeous way to show of those little roles on your baby. Babies tent to really like this pose and are very comfortable and it is easy styled as well.

Taco Pose

I love these names for the poses, this one simply means the baby is basically folded in half like a taco. It shows the range your baby can bend within the first weeks after birth and truly shows how that baby fits inside mummy’s belly.

Back Pose

I love these poses as I can capture such a variety for my gallery, one of my favourite is placing them under a blanket so they look like they are tucked up in bed, with a nice simple headband.

Huck Finn Pose

This is another beautiful pose showing how little your newborn is, the legs are curled up over their bodies with the help of some posing pillows underneath the blankets to keep them comfortable and in place.

Chin on Hands Pose

Not all babies like to be placed into this pose so I tend to leave this pose till later on in my workflow to get to know them, how they move, how they like to lay and what they are comfortable doing. It is a lovely pose and I can get such as variety of photographs from all different angles.

These are just a few of some of the traditional poses I complete during my bean bag sessions and each of my newborn sessions include these photographs.
